They must be designed strictly around your pallet parameters in reverse, otherwise it will either waste space or pose safety hazards.
The standard solid pallet racks (beam racks) are composed of upright pieces and welded crossbeams. Each layer can accommodate 1 to 2 standard pallets, equipped with safety pins to prevent detachment. However, "standard" refers to the racks being compatible with your pallets, not the other way around:
Beam length = tray long side + reserved clearance: Domestically, commonly used trays are 1200×1000mm or 1100×1100mm. The clear distance inside the beam should be 100~150mm larger than the long side of the tray (with 50~75mm reserved at both ends) to avoid scratching the columns when the forklift places the tray.
Shelf depth = pallet entry depth - 50~100mm: The pallet should neither be completely suspended nor touch the back connecting rod. Pallets with a "川" (chuan) bottom are most suitable for shelf storage.
Layer height = maximum stacking height of goods + 150mm or more: for forklift pickup, overhead operating space is required, and the layer spacing is rounded up to the nearest 50mm or 75mm hole pitch modulus.

Forklift parameter matching channel: For counterbalanced forklifts, the main channel should be ≥3~3.5m; for reach trucks, it is approximately 2.7~3m; for narrow aisles (VNA), specialized equipment and a 1.6~2m channel are required.
Ground and clear height: Confirm the load-bearing capacity of the floor and whether there are pre-embedded pipelines. High-level racks must be anchored with anchor bolts.
Fire sprinkler system: The total height of the shelves should not obstruct the effective coverage of the sprinkler system. If necessary, a transparent back net should be installed.
